How matching works

Our smart matching tool finds candidates with the skills, strengths, experience and qualifications you’ve asked for in your job listing.

We understand your needs

Once you submit your job vacancy, our team of local experts review the details. We contact you if any crucial information is missing so we can get your listing live.

If it is your first listing with us, we may contact you to better understand your needs so we can be confident that any people we put forward will be a good fit.

We may also ask if you are open to someone who can grow into the role and discuss other supports we can provide. Depending on your eligibility this can include:

  • extra support like workplace modifications or equipment for disabled people or those with health conditions
  • financial support to pay staff while they’re learning the job
  • help to pay for and set up pre-employment or in-work training.

We find and match candidates

As soon as your job vacancy is confirmed, our smart matching tool scans New Zealand's largest talent pool. We compare the requirements in your job listing with candidate profiles active in our system.

We find the best candidates for you, using an overall match score from key factors, including:

  • skills, strengths and experience, including languages and driver licence
  • qualifications gained from study and training
  • available hours and locations
  • types of work they’re interested in.

Once suitable matches have been identified, there are a couple of ways we turn matches into applications:

  1. Our team contact strong candidates directly to promote a vacancy, answer any questions and actively encourage them to apply.
  2. Our system automatically promotes job opportunities by sending links to candidates who have the highest match score to a vacancy, allowing them to review and apply instantly.

Candidates can also search for and apply to roles on this site without being matched.

No matter how they apply, our team reviews every application. Before adding a candidate to your shortlist, we check that they are a good fit for the role and that their CV and references are up to date and complete.

You receive a shortlist to review

Once interested candidates have applied for your role and been confirmed as good matches we send you a shortlist of applicants and their CVs to review.

We don't wait for the job listing to close. We deliver your shortlist as soon as we have enough strong candidates, so you can access the talent you need as quickly as possible.

If required, we repeat the matching and shortlisting process multiple times until you have the confidence to move forward with interviews and the hiring process.
