Jobs listed with MSD are publicly visible online. This means anyone can find and view our active job listings, including search engines and systems that scan the public web.

While job vacancies can be viewed online by anyone, we use active promotion to find you the best talent for your role:

  • Targeted matching – we match jobs to candidates within our talent pool based on how well they meet your needs.
  • Direct encouragement – we may contact strong candidates directly to promote your job listing, answer questions and encourage them to apply.
  • Personalised alerts – we regularly send our jobseekers direct links to their strongest job matches.

Depending on the role, your job vacancy can also be displayed in other places such as our local offices and social media.

Who can apply

Anyone with the right to work in New Zealand can apply for a job listed with us. Our candidates range from experienced and skilled professionals to motivated individuals who are eager to contribute and learn.

When someone applies for a job, our team look at how well each candidate matches your needs, including:

  • skills, strengths and experience, including languages and NZ driver licence
  • study and training
  • available hours and locations
  • types of work they’re interested in.

We also check their CV is current and complete, and see if references are available.

The best candidates who have applied for your role are shared as a shortlist for you to review, along with their CVs. You choose who you want to interview.
